Privacy Policy
NFL WATCHER (https://nflwatcher.com) is a free NFL viewing planner. It has no user accounts and asks for no name, email or password. This page explains what the app stores, where, and who else your browser contacts while you use it.
1. Data stored in your browser
Your settings are saved in your browser's local storage on the device you are using. This includes the games you marked as Live, Replay or Plan, your My Teams selection, the spoiler shield setting, the list of games whose scores you chose to reveal, and your language, timezone and default calendar view. This data never leaves your device unless you turn on device sync (section 2).
When the app is installed or has been opened once, your browser also keeps an offline copy of the app files and the most recently loaded schedule so it can open without a connection. You can remove all of this at any time by clearing site data for https://nflwatcher.com in your browser settings.
2. Optional device sync
Device sync is off by default. If you start it, the app generates a random 10-character sync code and stores the following under that code in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore): your Live / Replay / Plan marks, My Teams, the spoiler shield setting and the list of revealed games. Language, timezone and default view are not uploaded.
- No name, email, account or device identifier is attached to the record. The code is the only key.
- Anyone who has the code can read and change that record, so treat it like a password.
- Records are deleted automatically 180 days after their last change. Using the app on a connected device renews that period.
- Disconnecting a device stops it from reading or writing the record but does not delete the record; other devices using the code keep working.
Firebase is operated by Google. Its handling of infrastructure data such as IP addresses is described in Google's privacy policy.
3. Third parties your browser contacts
NFL WATCHER has no backend of its own. To work, your browser requests data directly from these services, each of which receives your IP address and standard request headers as part of any web request:
- ESPN (site.api.espn.com, a.espncdn.com): game schedules, scores and team logos.
- Vercel: hosts this website and keeps standard server access logs.
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr: web fonts used by the interface.
- Google Firebase: only if you turn on device sync (section 2).
4. Cookies, analytics and advertising
NFL WATCHER does not set cookies and does not run analytics or tracking scripts. It currently shows no advertising. If advertising or analytics are added in the future, this policy will be updated before they go live, and any required consent will be requested at that time.
5. Children
NFL WATCHER is not directed at children under 13 and knowingly collects no personal information from anyone.
6. Your choices and deletion
- Clear site data in your browser to remove everything stored locally, including the offline cache.
- Disconnect sync in Settings to stop a device from using a sync code.
- To have a sync record deleted before it expires, email cheonghak.labs@gmail.com with the sync code. The code is the only way to identify a record, so requests without it cannot be fulfilled.
7. Changes to this policy
Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes to what is collected will also be noted in the app.
